As an entrepreneur, I am responsible for every aspect of my business, and I'd say at least 50% of that time is spent taking and editing pictures of garments. Here's a peek at what I spend much of my time on each week.

SKETCH TO REALiTY: SEA CARGO DRESS

Original sketch done for what I've deemed, the Sea Cargo dress. As you can see, the dress evolved a bit throughout the design process. This happens all the time when I'm designing. I'll be making the garment and realize the design isn't working out quite like I envisioned or I just get a new idea in the middle of patterning and change up the design. In this one I originally wanted the decorative stitching to be parallel stitches over the entire bodice and sleeves, but during the design process, I decided the stitching would be more attractive and thinning if the decorative stitching was concentrated in the center front of the dress. I'm wanting to do more versions and play around with the layout of the decorative stitching...add bright colors, maybe do one focused on the shoulder area... we'll see...
I am very happy with the way the dress turned out, and am so loving how the cargo pockets hang lower than the hem. The fabric is 100% Eco friendly cotton denim from www.nearseanaturals.com . I absolutely love the fabrics from this site and order many of my fabrics from it. They specialize in Eco-friendly fabrics and have a beautiful selection. Sourcing Eco fabrics can be a bit of a pain, so I was very happy to find this site last year. 
Wooden buttons keep with REHCY VONNE's Eco aesthetic, and the natural Atlantis theme for this collection.
I wanted the design to be a sort of military inspired, chic-ed up look. How did I do?
I had not made cargo pockets in a few years, so I actually looked at a pair of my brother's cargoes for inspiration. :-)
The cut-out design of the back gives a cute surprise to the dress.

OCTOBER COLLAGE



 Fun times in October. My birthday, carving a pumpkin king, new Rehcy Vonne garments, a few exciting house projects, and finding some fabulous items for Frankie Marie. 
 I have been shooting and editing like crazy all month, and I can't wait to share all of the new items from studio de REHCY!

WEEK AT THE STUDiO: PUMPKINING AND BIRTHDAYS



I have decided that pumpkin patches are one of my most favorite places. Here I coined the verb "to pumpkin" or "going pumpkining" meaning to go gather pumpkins for fall decor.

PiLLAGiNG PLUNDERER

1950s/60s bonnets from an estate sale in Pensacola, Florida.
60s/70s trim. Sooooo awesome!! Now, what to do with it!
Look at this crazy 60s bonnet. Oh so sooo pink...crazy pink! I don't know how I feel about that, maybe I can paint the roses red. ;-)

A weekend spent estate saling, flea marketing, and thrift storing. What a wildly successful pillage, that only a portion of the weekend's spoils are displayed here. Seriously can not decide what treasure is the greatest find of the ridiculous weekend. So enjoy this sneak peek of new items for Frankie Marie. Hmm, just noticed the weird focus on roundish things in this post, pumpkins, hats, platters, bowls, even a round suitcase. Guess round is the theme this time... around. heehee :-P

October is my birthday month, so here's a bit of birthday materialism for you... and me... naturally. Of course my current super birthday dreams being trips to Italy, China, or Alaska (Hint, hint, my Love).
